At First Steps Academy our aim is to foster a love of learning in your child for a lifetime of happiness and success. We achieve this through our emergent curriculum which is play based with core elements of the Montessori approach.
Our curriculum is carefully devised to reflect the national frameworks of Aistear and Síolta. It is designed to empower the children in our care to grow and blossom as competent and confident learners.
Our curriculum is collaborative, with early year’s practitioners and children working together, co-constructing knowledge, meaning and understanding the world around them. Our aim is to foster your child’s independence, self confidence and esteem and to further support their social, emotional, physical, creative, intellectual and linguistic development.
We believe in a child’s right to learn through play is at the heart of our service and we strive to make every learning moment count.
Our learning environment at First Steps Academy provides a foundation for children to feel safe, explore, ask questions, feel respected and feel listened to. This environment is designed to reinforce children’s decision making ability, to promote confidence and to think independently. This is done by providing a stimulating learning environment both indoors and outdoors that enables children to reach to their fullest potential.
